Since the launch of the National Rental Affordability Scheme (NRAS) in early 2008 there has been a huge growth in the properties within the Scheme as well as the investors who are active within it. The NRAS Scheme is a government backed program that provides affordable housing for mid-level income earners in service industries such as police and school teachers. The NRAS is not a low income housing solution, and does not cater to the same tenants as a low income housing project.
